There is a reason why we refer to the factory guages as "Dummy" guages........they totally suck balls, especially that guage! The presure in the coolant system can be tremendous at realy high temps, but without an acurate guage you'll never know just how hot it got. That said, you may be OK, these engines are really tough, but if you're gonna pull a stunt like that, don'y ever do it without an accurate aftermarket guage. This would have told you to turn it off at the critical 235 degree mark. good luck, that's how i blew my HG!
